Most furniture companies merely "Drop Ship" their orders. This means they place the orders with the manufacturer and arrange a shipping carrier to pick it up from the manufacturer and deliver it to their customers. With this method, it takes 10-14 days before the shipping company picks up the order from the manufacturer. Then, it takes another 10-14 days for the shipping company to deliver it to customers.  This is why most companies expected delivery time is 4-6 weeks. Also, by other companies using the "drop ship" method, they never see or touch the furniture and act solely as a middle man. In a perfect world this method of shipping would be fine.

The reality is there are manufacturers defects and damages. Transport companies don't handle and move things the way we would ourselves because it is not their own items.  At LaPorta Furniture Company, we compensate for the imperfections in the shipping industry.

We start by inspecting for manufacturers damages or defects prior to shipping. Once we have determined the furniture is in perfect condition, we then begin our meticulous packing/shipping process. We add a special polyurethane foam to the inside and outside of the manufacturers packaging which gently cushions the furniture and allows for the bumps and bruises the box itself will take along the way to your home. We then add a layer of compressed wood around the manufacturers cardboard box and basically build a "box" around the box. We then carefully shrinkwrap your entire order together to make sure no boxes get lost or misplaced during shipping. 

Finally, we take your order from our warehouse directly to the shipping company.  By doing this, it saves 2 weeks of waiting for the shipping company to pick up the order from us.  With LaPorta Furniture Company, it usually only takes between 10-14 days total from the time you place your order until your new furniture arrives to your home.  We will communicate with you during the entire shipping process.  Once your order leaves the shipping company and is on it's way to you, we will send you the tracking numbers along with all the shipping company's information.  They will contact you to schedule your delivery.

We take these extra precautions to ensure our beautiful furniture will arrive to our customers quickly and in perfect condition.  While we use commercial shipping carriers to transport your order to you, and there can sometimes be a 1-2 day variance in the commercial shipping industry,  should you have any problem with your delivery,  WE ARE HERE TO TAKE CARE OF IT FOR YOU.

or delay shipping as long as you like if you are moving or remodeling.
